About your Photo Session
Session Information
Twin Cities-based photographer Meghan Drivdahl specializes in creatively classic baby portraits using natural light both indoors and out. While many photographers have switched to digital to save money and time, Meghan continues to be a proponent of film and custom fine-art archival prints. The same prints you see in museums from the turn of the century, the same prints that you treasure from your grandparents today.
Taking on a very limited number of sessions allows Meghan to focus her time and talent on producing the best images for her clients. Meghan wants each of your images to be treasured works of art for you and your family. Be sure to reserve your session in advance as her schedule often fills up 4-6 weeks ahead of time. Please contact Meghan while you are still pregnant to hold time around your due date.
Meghan tailors each portrait session to meet the needs and wants of her clients. She loves to get creative with her photos. If you have a 'theme' in mind please discuss it prior to the photo-shoot, together you can plan the clothing and location(s) accordingly. Meghan also has props she can bring with if you discuss them prior to the session.
As part of a (two or more roll) session, she will consult with the client at their home, give advice on what to wear and find the best background to suit your needs and check available natural light in your home.
Most sessions will start at your home and then move onto an outdoor location of your choice. At your home Meghan will take some time to get to know your children so they are comfortable with her. She will also likely pull 'props' from your home to use (a large bowl, a basket, a tricycle etc.) so don't be surprised when she asks!
In the colder months, if your home is not a viable option, a variety of suitable indoor options including her home studio are available. If you have specific posing ideas that you would like to capture, please discuss this with Meghan when booking your session.
Session fee is due in full at the time of your session.
After the session
Meghan will send a sneak peak after the session by email to share with family and friends. Please forward this email on!
Approximately 2 weeks after your session your proofs will be available to pick-up, to place your reprint order from. Once reprint payment is made, please allow 2-3 weeks for delivery of print enlargements. Orders will not be placed until payment is received in full. All images will remain on file should you ever desire additional reprints at a later date.
Portfolio Edit
Meghan is available for in home or in studio portfolio edit upon request, if you need recommendations to choose the best prints and work with you on how to display them artistically. Not only is a portfolio edit an important part of your photography session, but it is also a lot of fun. Meghan is invaluable in helping you decide the best images as well as the cropping, sizing, enhancing and combination of photos. For it is in this step that the photographs become the art that will eventually hang on your wall.
